Google I|O wrap up

Well unless you were living under a rock you would know Google I|O was just held last week and they had some pretty amazing announcements to say the least.  Now I know this is primarily for developers so I won't bore you with all the behind the scenes stuff and just get to the good stuff.

Google released 2 brand new pieces of hardware.  The Nexus 7 which is there 7" tablet and their take on a streaming media device the Nexus Q branded the first social streaming device.

The device that took the show would have to be the tablet easily.  Coming in at 7" I would love to have had the Nexus 10 shown but I guess 7" will have to do.  Being that size there will be no comparison to the iPad rather the Kindle Fire and Samsung Tab 7.  Now I think this will be the tablet to get in the 7 incher category, it out specs the competition and gives you a pure Google experience.  Hit the link for more details.

Next in line would be the Nexus Q a strange take on streaming with in the Android community.  I say strange because in order to control the Q you need to have an Android device, no remote control here.  So with that you already cut the user base down then there is the price.  The spherical toy will set you back a cool $300 bones so only Android fan boys need apply.  I really think Google missed the mark here, not including a remote and then charging so much for the device.  Now the reason for such a high price point is because their is 25W amplifier inside that can power a pretty descent set of speakers.  Here the specs.

Google also showed off there newest installment in the mobile OS game Jelly Bean Android 4.1.  The biggest additions to Android would have to be Google now and Project butter.  Project butter is Google's attempt to smooth out the OS and keep all animations running at a buttery smooth 60FPS.  Google now has been integrated into Google's already killer search and gives users the most pertinent information they need at the touch of a button.  Need to know the traffic before leaving the office or are you travelling and need to know whats near by?  Google now will give you all of that relevant to your location, patterns and habits.  The more you use it the more useful it will become as it learns your behavior.  Of course there were some minor UI changes as well.  What did you like best at Google I|O?
